HOW TO PREPARE

Ingredients

  • Moong daal   - 1 cup
  • Turmeric powder   - 1/2 tsp
  • Cumin seeds   - 1/4 tsp
  • Shallots - peeled whole   -
  • Garlic - peeled whole   - 2 cloves
  • Salt   - to taste
  • Curry leaves   - 2 sprigs
  • Green chilly - slit   -
  • MM Coconut paste   - 2 tbsp
  • Coconut oil   - 1 tbsp

Method

Dry roast Moong daal in a cooker.

Add turmeric powder, cumin seeds, shallots, garlic, green chillies, 4 times water and pressure cook the daal.

Once the daal is cooked add 2 tbsps of the coconut paste this to the daal and bring to a boil.

Finish with a tbsp of coconut and some curry leaves on top.
